Two comments: (1) The money the government has spent on the space program and (ironically) on wars has turned out to be money well spent, not necessarily for the direct results but for the indirect economic stimulus effect. Same thing with the current stimulus. (2) Money is an illusion anyway. Michael Moore asked the Undersecretary of the Treasury where all the money went, and she said 'I don't know'. What she should have said is 'nobody knows'. Think about the value of your house (if you have one). How much was it worth two years ago compared to now? Where did that money go? It simply vanished because all the people in your community stopped believing what they used to believe it was worth. (PS - those stacks of $100 bills are imaginary; there aren't that many $100 bills)

Very cool perspective on a billion dollars spent. It is a bit mind boggling, but it's not all Obama's fault that money has to be spent so needs can be met.
