To the Editor:
This past Labor Day weekend my husband and I drove to Hilton Head, SC, for his niece’s wedding. We stopped at both the Georgia and South Carolina Tourist Information Centers on the way up. I obtained maps and brochures for ideas on our next visit to our family.
On the way home we stopped at the first Florida rest area with tourist info. It was “Closed for the Holiday.” Since when does Florida’s first impression and tourist promotional area close for a holiday? I thought Florida wants to be the tourists’ holiday destination! Aren’t we being “penny wise and pound foolish”?
