To the Editor:
Compromise is the essential ingredient of a functioning democracy, and what separates a democracy from a totalitarian state. Right now, our nation needs substantially more revenue to reduce the national debt and to provide for the safety and well being of our citizens.
Can Gov.Romney, if elected President, participate in any budget compromise that involves raising taxes when he has given a pledge to never to raise taxes under any circumstances?
Poll after poll shows that a significant majority of Americans favor raising taxes on the wealthiest among us to help raise needed revenue. If Gov.Romney connot consider the wishes of most Americans because he made a pledge to one man, is he qualified to hold the office of President?
