Fundamental Difference Between Atheists and Believers

Fundamental Difference Between Atheists and Believers

To the Editor:
The fundamental question of science is something that, unanswered, encourages tension with faith. That question is simple: “What in the universe exists that can also be perceived?”

Another way of phrasing this is: “Evolution has left us able to perceive only that which is made of atoms. However, are their entities in the universe not made of atoms that are, therefore, unperceivable to the human?”

The answer to this question is the difference between the atheist and the believer. The atheist would say no and the believer would say yes.

However, the dispute cannot be settled until that answer can be as definitely and unequivocally proclaimed by science as it is by faith.
