To the Editor: I’m writing in response to this letter about the Edward Snowden case, specifically this line:
“We pay government officials to make important decisions at home and abroad for us. I think it would be a dangerous thing to put the fate of the United States into the hands of the public.”
In other words, we don’t really need democracy. What we need is a good king, who will make all important decisions for us.
This is exactly that political system, which was promoted in the Soviet Union for decades. But fortunately for us the soviet system has collapsed miserably, proving that totalitarian regime isn’t stable.
Come on, Mrs. Margie P., get real!!
