To the Editor:
It was interesting to me that Kathleen Parker in the Daily Herald of suburban Chicago satirically ridiculed Pope Francis as being like Jiminey Cricket in her oped column while Rush Limbaugh was gently chided for not taking the Pope’s words in ‘context’.
To characterize Pope Francis as a Disney Jiminy Cricket with “twinkling eyes in anticipation of his next moonlight adventure” is an insult to a man with both moral courage and credibility. To give Limbaugh media coverage without ‘context’ about his history or ongoing message is to overlook the fact that he has neither moral courage nor credibility.
And I’m not Catholic…
