Republicans expect to win the midterm elections in 2014 and the White House in 2016, arguing that Barack Obama’s mess is so bad that they will not be able to fix things in two terms.
The only condition required to give the debate to Romney was amnesia: you had to ignore or disregard everything he had said before the debate and not remember any US history.
During any recession or depression most lose however a few always win. The winners are almost always right-wing republicans and appear unable to ignore or do support great cruelty.
It is clear that the Republicans are only interested in their own power, not the best interest of the nation as a whole. Our Founding Fathers went to great lengths to ensure that the moneyed elite would not have a lock on political power as well.
