What’s even more distasteful than seeing a state senator apparently stashing cash bribes in her bra is the fact that she refuses to bow out of the upcoming election.
The hubris of state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson in Massachusetts is astounding. After an 18-month investigation, the feds arrested her on charges of taking $23,500 in bribes, much of it to make sure a new liquor license was secured for a business in her district.
So here she is under indictment and with less than a week to go before the election, instead of bowing out gracefully to handle her legal affairs, she is pushing ahead with her sticker campaign during Tuesday’s election.
Why can’t our politicians act with the dignity their offices demand?
